How do i care for a new tattoo?
1.Remove bandage or wrap in a clean bathroom after 2-3 hours.
the bandage may be left on overnight if it feels comfortable and secure.
if the bandage is removed on the first night, the tattoo may stick to or stain bedsheets.
maintain clean bedding throughout the healing process(about 2 weeks).
2.Gently clean the Tattoo
Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattoo.
Gently remove the bandage and wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
Pat dry with a clean, soft towel-avoid rubbing as this can irritate the skin.
3.Apply a thin layer of moisturizer
After cleaning, apply a thin layer of a fragrance-free, non-alcoholic moisturizer or a tattoo-specific aftercare oniment.
Avoid heavy, petroleum-based products as they can clog pores.
4.Let it breathe
Keep the tattoo uncovered as much as possible, allowing it to breathe and heal naturally.
Avoid rewrapping unless necessary(like in specific work environments).
5.Avoid submerging in water
For the first two weeks, avoid swimming, submerging can cause the ink to come out or lead to infection.
6.Don’t scratch or pick at scabs
Your tattoo will likely start to peel or scab over as it heals, which is normal. Avoid picking or scratching, as this can lead to fading, scarring, or infections.
7.Avoid direct sun exposure
Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and irritation. even after healing, apply a high-SPF
sunscreen on the tattoo when exposed to the sun to maintain color.
8.Continue moisturizing
Apply a thin layer of moisturizer regularly, especially when the skin feels dry. This helps reduce itching and promotes healthy healing.
9. Be patient with the healing process
Healing can take 2-4 weeks, but full recovery may take longer depending on size and placement. Some itching, peeling, and mind redness are normal.
